Campaign Ad Watch: Dale Peterson for Alabama Agriculture Commissioner

How often do you see a candidate riding a horse, brandishing a weapon and talking about Facebook in a television commercial?

Not often enough.

Dale Peterson, a Republican candidate for Alabama Agriculture Commissioner in 2010, brings us all that and more. Peterson, a businessman and veteran, is facing State Agriculture Board Member Dorman Grace and former State Representative John McMillan in the GOP primary on June 1.

The “gutsy” and plain spoken candidate’s ad has inspired a website called DalePetersonFacts.com. It’s a take off on the famous Chuck Norris jokes, and most of the gems are the site are just repurposed Norris Facts.

An example: “When Dale Peterson slices an onion, the onion cries.”

Watch for the scene where Peterson says “Who on Earth would support such a dummy?” while the camera focuses in on the horse’s eyes. It’s pretty funny for a political ad.
