Ron Paul Wins Easy Re-Election to U.S. House

Rand Paul isn’t the only member of the Paul family celebrating a victory tonight.   His father, Congressman Ron Paul of Texas, was re-elected by a wide margin.

The elder Paul, a two-time Presidential candidate, has captured nearly 79% of the vote according to early results.  Democrat Robert Pruett trailed well behind with 21%.

Paul has run for President of the United States twice, first in 1988 as the nominee of the Libertarian Party and again in 2008 as a candidate for the Republican nomination.  He is also the founder of the advocacy group Campaign for Liberty and his ideas have been expressed in numerous published articles and books.

Paul has earned the nickname “Dr. No” from his fellow Congressmembers for his refusal to support anything he believes violates the U.S. Constitution.

  1. This man should be running America.

  2. Of course Ron Paul won. He is the only congressman with any principles, and he stands by those principles with every vote he casts. Other republicans narowly eek by because they are all generally spineless socialists with no knowledge of sound economics, no committment to small government, and no interest in promoting a secure republic over a bullying empire abroad. Every republican could learn something from Dr. Paul, but none of them ever seem to.

At least there will still be a 1-man conscience in the house.

  3. All of America needs to wake up to the reality of the current economic suicide being foisted upon us by the corrupt, COMBINED WELFARE-WARFARE Democrat-Republican Marxist Liberal Socialist Big Government Party in Washington today—————-the same way that the people of Texas have and support Ron Paul and the honest Austrian-school theory of the smart Libertarians. In my opinion. okKO

  4. I chose to withdraw my consent from this corrupt government and not vote… however if I lived in Ron Paul’s district I would have cast a vote for him. He is truly a man of principle and integrity.

  5. Congratulations to the Texan voters in Dr. Paul’s district, who are the only ones in the country who’s vote will actually make a difference in changing government for the better.

  6. Great to hear!

Didn’t hear one drop about it on the mainstream news.

  7. This news made my day, go Ron&RandPaul!
