Former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore, who recently launched a Presidential exploratory committee, has posted a copy of his birth certificate on his website.
Moore is most noted for his refusal, as the Chief Justice of the Alabama Court, to remove a monument of the Ten Commandments from the state courthouse despite orders to do so from a federal judge. Moore was unanimously removed from his post in 2003 and mounted a pair of failed campaigns for Governor in 2006 and 2010. Both times he was defeated in the Republican primary.
The certificate shows Moore was born to Roy and Evelyn Moore in 1947, both lived in an Alabama housing project. His dad was 29 years old and was a butcher at a grocery store, his mom was 19 and a housewife.
