Orman Holds Lead in Kansas, Spending Millions of Personal Money

ormanIndependent Greg Orman still holds a five-point lead over incumbent Republican Pat Roberts in Kansas’ unexpectedly competitive U.S. Senate race. The latest Rasmussen poll of Likely Kansas Voters shows Orman with 49% support to Roberts’ 44%.

Other recent polls have also shown Orman leading, though by a less significant margin.

An NBC News poll conducted by Marist College put Orman ahead of Roberts by 45% to 44%, while a Gravis poll had the independent ahead of the Republican incumbent 47% to 45%.

Orman continues to pour his personal fortune into the race, as Bloomberg Politics noted today…

If Greg Orman ends up winning a seat in the U.S. Senate, he’ll easily be able to thank his biggest campaign donor: Greg Orman.

The wealthy Kansas businessman, running as an independent against Republican Senator Pat Roberts, accounted for $1.21 million of the $2.37 million his campaign raised through Sept. 30, according to his third-quarter campaign finance filing.
