Gary Johnson: I’d Like to Run for President Again

johnsonFormer New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson would to run again in in 2016, he said during an interview on “The Steve Malzberg Show” on Newsmax TV.

“The whole election is a big yawn,” Johnson said of today’s midterm elections. “Who cares who wins, because nothing’s really going to change? It’s like a debate between Coke and Pepsi. They’re debating over which one tastes better.”

“People are clamoring to hear good ideas as opposed to the lesser of two evils,” he continued. “Either the Democrats are going to win or the Republicans are going to win, but the losers are all of us out here as citizens that really do want meaningful change, and none of it’s happening. There’s no dialogue regarding meaningful change.”

“I hope to be able to do this again myself,” Johnson said, confirming his interest in seeking the Libertarian nomination for a second time. Johnson highlighted his own differences on social issues with Rand Paul as one of things that would prompt him to make another bid for the White House.

In an interview with Uncovered Politics earlier this year, Johnson’s former running mate Judge Jim Gray made it clear that he was still pushing Johnson to make another bid: “The Governor and I are in constant contact, and I still firmly believe that he is the most qualified person to be president that I know of. So I remain fully committed to his election.”
