Randy Wiseman Crosses Party Lines to Back Richardson for Governor

Darcy Richardson, the Reform Party of Florida’s nominee for governor, received another early endorsement from a prominent Libertarian on Monday.

“Darcy Richardson is my choice for Florida governor this election,” said Randy Wiseman, the former chairman of the Lake County School Board. “Florida voters are eager to break the two-party rule and now is their chance.”

“Darcy and the Reform Party of Florida have stepped up to the plate to give working families a voice,” Wiseman added. “I applaud their efforts.”

Wiseman is a small business owner and former Libertarian candidate for Governor of Florida. He served on the Lake County School Board from 1994 to 1998, including one year as chairman of the board. During that time, he was also the statewide Legislative Chairman for the Florida School Boards Association.

Wiseman had been the Libertarian candidate for governor until recently, when he withdrew from the race for health reasons. As the only minor party candidate to secure a spot on the ballot in the governor’s race, Richardson will be listed third behind the eventual Republican and Democratic nominees.

“I think Florida is at the tip of a political paradigm shift,” Wiseman told FloridaPolitics.com last year. “We’re finding out that the two‐party system just doesn’t work anymore. They’re looking out for each other for mutual benefit, but not for the benefit of the people.”

“I am humbled and very excited to have Randy Wiseman’s support in this campaign,” said Richardson. “We are building a powerful coalition of former Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians and independents to challenge the status quo. Together we can give millions of forgotten Floridians a fighting chance for a better future!”

Wiseman joins former Libertarian U.S. Senate nominee Paul Stanton, who endorsed Richardson just last week.
